How Does UPS Access Point® Delivery Work at Big Jeff Audio?Updated an hour ago
Big Jeff Audio Shipping Options
Ship Your Order to a UPS Access Point®
Eligible Big Jeff Audio orders can now be sent to a participating UPS Access Point location selected during checkout.
A UPS Access Point is a participating neighborhood business—such as a local retailer or The UPS Store®—that receives eligible UPS packages for customer pickup. Instead of having your order delivered to your home or workplace, you can select a convenient participating location during checkout and collect it after UPS confirms that it is ready.
Why choose a UPS Access Point?
- More secure than an unattended doorstep: Your eligible order is held at a staffed participating location until pickup, which can help reduce exposure to porch theft, weather, or packages being left outside.
- Pickup on your schedule: Many locations offer extended, evening, or weekend hours. Hours vary, so check the selected location before visiting.
- Fewer missed deliveries: This is useful when no one is normally available to receive packages at home.
- A convenient nearby option: Checkout allows you to view and select from participating locations available for your eligible order.
- Tracking and notifications: UPS provides tracking updates, and its arrival notice includes the location address, hours, and pickup requirements.
How to select an Access Point at checkout
- Add your products to the cart and proceed through checkout.
- Enter your contact and shipping information.
- If the complete shipment is eligible, choose the UPS Access Point delivery option and select an available location.
- Review the selected location, its address, and the shipping charge before completing your order.
- After shipment, follow the UPS tracking updates and wait for confirmation that the package is ready for pickup.
Package eligibility and restrictions
UPS Access Point locations have tighter limits than standard delivery to a home or business. Under the current UPS U.S. Rate & Service Guide, a package sent directly to a UPS Access Point generally must meet all of these limits:
| Restriction | UPS Access Point limit |
|---|---|
| Maximum actual weight | 44 lb per package |
| Maximum longest side | 38 inches |
| Maximum length plus girth | 130 inches combined |
| Maximum package value | Must be less than $10,000 when shipped directly to an Access Point; additional exceptions and lower limits apply to certain prepaid drop-offs |
How UPS calculates length plus girth:
Length + (2 × Width) + (2 × Height)
The length is the package’s longest side. Restrictions apply to each individual package. A multi-item order may become ineligible if even one package is too large, too heavy, too valuable, or otherwise restricted.
Products and shipments that may not qualify
- Packages exceeding any Access Point weight, dimension, or value limit
- Hazardous materials that require shipping papers
- Firearms, weapons, and most ammunition shipments
- Other prohibited or restricted articles
- Orders made ineligible by UPS requirements or shipper instructions
- Some adult-signature shipments or other special-service shipments in limited circumstances
If an order is not eligible, the UPS Access Point option will not appear at checkout. Large or heavy car-audio products—including some subwoofers, enclosures, batteries, amplifiers, and multi-item orders—may exceed the limits after packaging.
What to bring when picking up your order
Bring a current government-issued photo ID. For the smoothest pickup, the name and full address on your ID should match the name and address associated with the package.
If the address does not match, UPS may require proof of residency—such as a current utility bill—that matches the package address. Depending on which information matches, UPS may also ask for the tracking number. If UPS indicates that a package release code is required, bring the 4–6 digit code supplied for the shipment; it is different from the tracking number.
UPS identification rules still apply. Some packages may be marked “Deliver to Addressee Only,” which means only the person named on the shipping label may collect the package. A third party cannot pick up those shipments.
Frequently asked questions
How long will the location hold my package?
UPS generally holds an Access Point package for 7 calendar days. If it is not collected in time, UPS may return it to Big Jeff Audio as undeliverable. Always rely on your tracking details and pickup notification for the deadline applying to your shipment.
How will I know when it is ready?
UPS will update the tracking and may send an email or other shipment notification. Wait until tracking says “Awaiting Customer Pickup” before traveling to the location.
Can I pick up the package as soon as tracking says it was delivered?
Wait for the pickup-ready status or notification. The location may need time to receive and scan the package into its pickup system.
Do all Big Jeff Audio orders qualify?
No. Eligibility depends on the packaged size, actual weight, value, product type, service, destination, participating-location capacity, and other UPS or shipper restrictions. The option only appears at checkout when it is available for the order.
Can I choose any UPS Access Point?
You may choose from the participating locations presented for the eligible shipment during checkout. Availability, services, capacity, and hours vary by location.
Can I change the selected location after ordering?
Changes are not guaranteed after an order is placed or shipped. UPS may offer delivery-change options for eligible packages through UPS My Choice®, sometimes for a fee. Certain shipments cannot be redirected. Review the location carefully before submitting your order.
Is an Access Point the same as The UPS Store?
Not always. The UPS Access Point network includes participating local retailers and participating The UPS Store locations. Services and operating hours differ by location.
What happens if I do not pick up my package?
After the hold period expires, UPS may return the package to Big Jeff Audio as undeliverable. Any refund or reshipment will be handled under our applicable shipping and return policies, and original or return shipping costs may apply.
