Shopify Expert Developer (In-House)

Big Jeff Audio is seeking a skilled Shopify Expert Developer to join our in-house e-commerce team. In this role, you will help ensure the performance, functionality, and user experience of our Shopify store while supporting the continued growth of our online business.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Shopify development, strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Liquid, and the ability to translate business needs into practical website improvements. An interest in the car audio industry is a plus.

This is an in-house position. We are not considering remote applicants.

Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour with quarterly evaluations

Supplemental Pay:
Bonus opportunities

Position Overview

The Shopify Expert Developer is responsible for maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting our Shopify storefront. This role focuses on custom theme development, third-party application integrations, website performance, usability, and providing internal support for Shopify-related tasks.

This position requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

Responsibilities

  • Customize and enhance the functionality of our Shopify store using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid
  • Create seamless, visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly shopping experiences
  • Integrate, configure, and optimize third-party Shopify applications and services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting the Shopify platform or customer shopping experience
  • Test website changes across desktop and mobile devices before deployment
  • Monitor site functionality and identify opportunities to improve usability, performance, and conversion
  • Stay informed about Shopify updates, e-commerce trends, and development best practices
  • Recommend and implement improvements appropriate for an online car audio retailer
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on Shopify-related processes and tasks
  • Collaborate with creative, marketing, product-listing, and customer-service teams on website projects
  • Complete assigned projects accurately and within established deadlines

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Shopify developer or Shopify expert
  • A portfolio demonstrating successful Shopify or e-commerce implementations is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify Liquid
  • Ability to create visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces
  • In-depth knowledge of Shopify architecture, themes, features, applications, and best practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
  • Ability to organize priorities and meet established deadlines

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • 40 hours per week
  • 30-minute lunch
  • (2) paid 10-minute breaks

Requirements

  • Shopify development experience
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid coding experience
  • Adobe Photoshop experience (2+ years required)
  • Data entry experience (2+ years required)
  • Photo editing experience (required)
  • Microsoft Excel experience (required)
  • Basic computer operations (2+ years required)
  • Canva experience (preferred)
