🎙️ BIG SOUND PODCAST TEASER — QUEEN KONG TAKES OVERUpdated 5 hours ago

Tuesday July 1st @ 7:30 PM EST

Up Next on Big Jeff's BIG SOUND Podcast:

This one’s a bass-powered takeover. On the next Big Sound Podcast, we’re bringing in Lilah Rae, better known across the scene as Queen Kong—one of the top women in car audio and a certified bass-head superstar. And if you’ve ever caught one of her demos, you already know: it’s not just about the volume. It’s the energy.

She builds big, she rocks shows, and yeah—she sings too. Her go-to demo track? Her own song, “Queen Kong” (rebassed by DJ Dirty Bass).
She’ll pull the plug mid-demo and still draw a crowd. She’s that magnetic.

🚘 From Rookie to Royalty

We asked Queen Kong how she got started, and the story couldn’t be more real:

What made you want to get your start in car audio?
“There was really no ‘ah ha’ moment—it was 2005, I had just gotten my first car, and I wanted to enjoy it for 3 months before I headed to Iraq. What better way to do that than bump around the military base with two 15s in my Nissan Altima? Lol.”

No drama, no flash—just raw passion and mission vibes.

👑 How the Name Was Born

Where did your name 'Queen Kong' come from?
“I got it from the lyric, ‘He got King Kong in the trunk’, and I thought—no female is calling her build Queen Kong. At the time, I had 2 Incriminator Audio Death Penalty 21s and had named that setup Sonic Boom. I told my brother and husband about the idea and sat on the name… until I dropped the current build. That’s when I knew it was worthy.”

And just like that, Queen Kong became a movement.

🔊 The Setup That Shakes Streets

Her current ride? An ’04 Tahoe Z71 sitting on 26x14s, pushing pure pressure with:

  • 6 Fi MT 18s (reconed by Corey Dean of SPL Audio)
  • 6 Stetsom Bravo 8Ks
  • Roughly 30 DS18 mids and highs
  • Stetsom amps throughout
  • 60,000+ watts and nearly $20K invested

What’s one piece you'd never swap out?
“Honestly, anything can get swapped whenever I catch the urge to upgrade. Nothing’s off-limits!”

🛑 Trends? She Doesn’t Need Them

What’s a car audio trend you think needs to go?
“I don’t really follow many trends to even know what’s trendy in car audio. I just go with my own flow.”

Enough said. She’s not following the pack—she’s building her own lane.

💬 Real Talk: Advice for the Up-and-Comers

Do you have any advice for someone trying to build their name like you?
“Be your authentic self. Don’t align yourself with a brand, team, or person—but the mission, calling, or purpose. Don’t be a follower. Stay in your own lane and make your own waves.”

She’s not just building systems—she’s building a mindset. And it shows.

❤️ When the Community Shows Up

What’s one moment when the audio community showed up for you?
“Honestly, I haven’t had a moment that warranted the community needing to rally for me. But I know they would if it ever came down to it.”

⚡ Rapid Fire with Queen Kong

Loudest system you've ever been in?

“My brother’s—Tha Professor’s build.”

One brand you’ll always trust?

“Whatever brand proves they can be 100% trusted.”

What song hits hardest in your setup?

“My own track, Queen Kong—DJ Dirty Bass rebass.”
